Nomenclature for Indias first war of independence

I previously referred to The Great Mutiny and the Sepoy Rebellion. In actual fact these are terms for the same series of events. It has also been called the Indian Insurrection. The term most used in India is the First War of Independence, and that is the one I prefer. Not everyone agrees, naturally.
